Sammy

Sammy 2004 – 2019

Yesterday I said goodbye to Sammy.  He had been diagnosed with cancer in January.  He was getting weaker each day and started to show signs of pain.  I knew it was time to let him go.  DSC00178

The house seems so empty without him and his brothers miss him too.  I’ll always remember the little kitten that came into my yard in 2004 and stole my heart.

  1. We saw your Sammy on Ellen’s blog, and wanted to come by and express our condolences. Ironically, we lost our also long haired black cat – Samantha – just two days after. We know exactly how you are feeling. 😦

  2. We are so sorry to read about Sammy. We know he is running free with many Who Have Gone Before, and will still keep an eye on you and his mates. Purrayers to all who love him.

  3. Friend and colleague Ellen Pilch from 15 and meowing told me of your loss so, of course, I had to come over and offer a hug.

Sammy looks the most wonderful cat and I am sorry you have suffered such a grievous loss. They leave a space in our lives even as we look to shelter the ones they send after.

I will try to keep in touch with your blog. Keep going for Sammy’s memory and know you do not grieve alone.

  4. I am sorry to hear about Sammy. Such a pretty cat. Hard to lose a cat you’ve seen grown from a kitten. Maybe Sammy will meet up with my Marmalade and they can frolick together

    1. Thank you. I’m so sorry for your loss too.I have so many happy memories with Sammy. It does help to think of them and know I was lucky to have found him and his brothers and to have given them a home.

  7. I am sorry to hear about Sammy. I lost a long-time friend Marigold back in January. Even though I have other cats, there always seems to be one “missing”. If I say her name, the others will look around for her–so sad.
