I love my new home and the couch
I’m so comfy
Mom laughs at the way I sit up and sleep
But there are times I like to stretch my legs
I like this life after being in the shelter for two months. I think you’ll be seeing lots of sleepy selfies
It’s good to be back blogging. I’ve been away for awhile, busy with my move to another province in Canada. I’m settled in a condo and I really like it, but something has been missing. A cat.
This is Scout. A 7 year old female. I adopted her from the Humane Society. I picked her up Friday. I should have had her a week before, but she had an eye infection, so they wanted to make sure she was healthy before sending her home.
Scout loves tummy rubs. Within two hours of being in her new home, she was rolling around on the floor.
When I saw her photo online, I just knew she was the one. I saw her age and new it would take longer for someone to adopt her and she was also a shy and nervous cat. When I visited the shelter, all I saw were two eyes and a nose peaking out from a blanket. I didn’t see the full cat until she was put in the carrier to bring home.
Scout isn’t shy anymore. She lets me know when she’s hungry or wants attention, especially in the middle of the night. She’s made herself right at home.
Next week I will be moving and I don’t know how often I’ll be online for awhile. I’m moving from Toronto Ontario to Calgary Alberta to be closer to family.
It’s sad to think that Teddy won’t be with me. I had bought him a new carrier for the trip and was excited to start our new adventure together. Thank you again for your kind words about Teddy and the lovely badges.
I will be staying with my brother while I look for a place and hopefully it won’t take long. I’ll check in when I can.
Take care,
Correne
I had to make the heart breaking decision to say goodbye to Teddy yesterday. Over the past month he was losing weight and having trouble walking. The vet said it was his kidneys and he didn’t have much time left.
This past weekend he wasn’t able to walk across the room to his litterbox or even jump on the couch anymore. He had lost interest in food too.
He’s with his brothers now. I know it was the right thing to do, but the house is so empty without him.
It’s been an exhausting week here. We are planning to move, so Mom sold the house last week. There were so many people coming and going during the showings, I couldn’t get any naps during the day. Thank goodness it’s over. Now for the packing, but that’s not my job. I will stay on the couch and nap.
Look at all the snow!
Yesterday morning Mom looked out the door and the steps had disappeared. It looked the same out the back door. She started down the steps and ended up waist high in a snow drift. 50cm of snow. The city is still digging out.
Days like these I’m happy to be a cat. Warm bed, food and no shoveling.
Wonder what I’ll see out the window today.
Mr. Squirrel munching on a peanut.
Birds keeping warm in the sun.
Oh look! A cardinal came to visit.
Mom gave me my favorite blanket. She must have known I’d be ready to nap.
I have one more thing to say before I drift off to sleep.
Merry Christmas
Teddy and Correne
I love my zebra toy.
I’m noisy when I play. I meow and yell as I carry my toys. Mom is always telling me to be quiet.
When the sun shines I know I’ll find my shadow somewhere in the room. It always shows up to keep me company.
